SoMa, San Francisco · restaurant
A no-frills hole-in-the-wall on 6th that's been serving amazing cheap Vietnamese food since 1977. It's is the kind of SF institution that earns its reputation by doing the same things right for generations. The imperial rolls (chả giò) are the most-ordered item and exist for obvious reasons (crispy, dense, and loaded) and the bún thịt nướng comes loaded with grilled pork kebab over vermicelli.
