A hybrid café, bakery, flower shop, and gourmet market where buying a floral arrangement, a charcuterie board, and a plate of shrimp and grits in the same visit somehow feels completely normal. The Golden Egg—a nutmeg cake dipped in butter and cinnamon sugar—has developed a cult following alongside the breakfast sandwiches served on artisan bread. It closes early enough that getting there by lunch starts to feel oddly urgent.
