Lower East Side, Manhattan · restaurant
Housed in a century-old winery on Rivington, Essex spreads out over multiple levels but keeps a steady hum—no need to overdo it when the room’s already doing the work. The menu moves cleanly from wagyu tartare and grilled Spanish octopus into a proper dry-aged porterhouse without feeling scattered. Bottomless brunch has been a draw here long enough that it feels baked in, not bolted on.
Happy hour runs Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
