DTLA, Los Angeles · restaurant
DTLA’s subterranean sushi lounge that’s part art gallery, part restaurant, and entirely too much fun to be taken seriously. You descend an ocean-themed staircase, and suddenly you’re swimming under a 5,500‑gallon suspended fish tank that glows over a black-and-white checkerboard floor. Sushi-slinging is just the start. There’s an upstairs omakase bar for the quietly adventurous, a whiskey lounge for late-night pours, and art pieces that look like they’d be at home in a slick Tokyo gallery.
