East Austin, Austin · bar
A wooden door with a tiny eye-level window is the first clue you're in the right place. Hidden beneath Buenos Aires Café, Milonga Room fills a dim basement with red velvet seating, worn couches, and one of Austin's deeper amaro selections. The Carajillo (espresso, Licor 43, and ice) is the signature order, and the low ceilings make the whole room feel transported a few time zones south of East 6th.
Argentine-style empanadas — the food anchor for a long amaro session.
Bourbon, amaro, vermouth, mole bitters, smoked cinnamon and orange zest.
Espresso and Licor 43 over ice — the signature order here. Rich and velvety.
