Dogpatch, San Francisco · restaurant
Caramel leather booths, fluted columns and burnished brass make this steakhouse look like a mid-century California film set, with Caesar salad and Dover sole finished on carts rolled to the table. The dry-aged steaks come off old-school broilers: order the tomahawk ribeye or the filet, then add the creamed kale and potato purée. Downstairs is a moody bar of charred wood and oxblood tones for a martini, and the patio faces the Bay with heaters for cold nights.
