Hayes Valley, San Francisco · restaurant
A small, light-filled Hayes Valley bakery with a pastry case devoted to the baked goods of the Jewish diaspora—salted chocolate and cinnamon-date babka, spinach-and-feta bourekas, and a Turkish coffee cream pie with a following of its own. The baking is meticulous, and the salted chocolate babka is widely considered among the city's best. By night, the space transforms into Loquat at Night, with an entirely different menu.
