Echo Park, Los Angeles · restaurant
On a stretch of Alvarado that always feels one wrong turn from a pile-up, this little Echo Park spot throws down Japanese-Peruvian plates and ceviches that are way fancier than the room lets on. Picture a turquoise quartz bar, a neon sign preaching “Muchisimo Amor,” and walls covered in guest scribbles. It’s polished but still scrappy, it’s comfort food merged with an art project.
Peruvian chicha morada. Purple corn, cinnamon, clove, lime.
Stuffed potato ball, Peruvian-style. Fried and crispy.
Hand-rolled nori cones with fresh fish and rice. Choose from salmon, tuna, scallop, or crab.
