Mission, San Francisco · bar
Six bar stools and a couple of two-tops tucked inside a neighborhood market in the Mission. Horsies is small enough that the handwritten signs ('Don't play the piano. Nobody knows you!') feel personally addressed. The walls collect wine bottles, horse figurines, string lights, and candles in a density that makes the room feel less like a bar and more like a found object. Vermouth and low-ABV fortified wine cocktails are the house specialty; the hot dogs on the menu exist because a bar this charming can get away with whatever it wants.
