Dark walls, black leather banquettes, and sculptural light fixtures give Fig an unmistakably modern feel before the food even arrives. The menu starts in Italy and happily wanders elsewhere—tempura-fried scallops with house-cured caviar, Japanese eggplant in red curry broth, and cobia crudo with chili crisp and hibiscus vinegar all make appearances. Save room for dessert: the chocolate ice-box pie with caramelized white chocolate gelato is the dish people remember on the drive home.
