Mooncake Making Class

Saturday, September 19, 2026, 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM · Bakers Bench, Northeast L.A., Los Angeles

About Mooncake Making Class

Bakers Bench and Rooted Fare host their 4th annual mooncake making class in the garden, where guests craft four vegan black sesame almond mooncakes and enjoy tea and snacks. The event runs both Saturday and Sunday with morning and late-morning sessions, and kids over 6 can join with their own ticket.

At Bakers Bench

Built around solving the vegan croissant problem, this DTLA bakery turns out dairy-free pastries with the crackly layers, airy interior, and buttery richness that most vegan versions never quite achieve. The case leans heavily toward viennoiserie (croissants, Danishes, and seasonal pastries) all made without dairy and all prone to selling out well before lunch. Get there early or get used to disappointment.
