Juniper is bringing back three past favorites from its menu for one night only to mark 11 years in East Austin. The lineup includes chicken liver mousse, pappardelle with oxtail ragù, and veal Milanese with peperonata.
The sleek, minimalist dining room and ladder-access liquor wall feel more like a modern cocktail bar than an Italian restaurant. Then the pasta arrives. The cacio e pepe is the benchmark order, but the rigatoni alla vodka with burrata and Calabrian chiles makes a strong argument for splitting both and calling it a night.
