East Village, Manhattan · shop
This place is legit candy-shop nostalgia with a full late-night snack attack. It’s a tiny, florescent-lit counter shop on Ave A, open 24/7, with paper signs everywhere and Ray (yes, really the longtime owner) behind the soda fountain mixing egg creams. Everything feels carnival-cheap but done with joy: fried Oreos, Belgian fries, soft serve, beignets, milkshakes, hot dogs. It’s the sort of place you find yourself crawling into after midnight, sugar-buzzed and utterly content.
Crunchy, sweet, deep-fried Oreos. Best-selling late-night treat from an East Village institution
New Orleans-style beignets, a popular late-night treat.
Old-school NYC egg cream: chocolate syrup, cold milk, and seltzer water, no eggs, no cream.
