Austrian gasthaus in the middle of San Francisco — lederhosen-free, but the Wiener Schnitzel with lingonberry sauce, the Schweinhaxe (crispy braised pork knuckle on Sundays), and the Giant Bavarian Pretzel with schwarz bier cheese sauce are completely genuine. The Flammkuchen comes out of the oven with caramelized onions, bacon, and gruyere, and the German beer list is long enough to make you forget which city you are in.
