Modu Cafe marks its two year anniversary with a weekend-only collaborative menu, running Friday 10/9 through Sunday 10/11 until sold out. The menu includes a pecan pie tart on a misugaru shell with lactofermented plum jam and toasted milk whipped cream, and a banana latte made with Tesoro Coffee, featuring housemade banana syrup and a bruleed banana garnish. A daily giveaway offers two winners a gift set with a collab tote, ceramic, coffee beans, tea, and a $20 gift card.
Sun-drenched pastry cafe on York built around Korean-inflected takes on French pastry forms. Dark chocolate mochi brownies, boricha madeleines, hojicha mochi muffins, and miso misugaru cookies. The space runs on custom teak woodwork and good natural light, with multi-roaster specialty coffees and teas alongside. Quantities are limited and the case empties early.
