Sunday, October 4, 2026, 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM ยท City Lights Booksellers & Publishers, North Beach, San Francisco
City Lights joins dozens of independent presses at Litquake's Small Press Book Fair in Yerba Buena Gardens, with poetry readings from Vania Luna Gutierrez, Zara Jamshed, Mukethe Kawinzi, and Giovanna Lomanto. Publications sell at deep discounts alongside presses like ZYZZYVA, Heyday Books, and PM Press.
Three-floor independent bookstore at the corner of Columbus and Jack Kerouac Alley that doubles as a publisher, the press launched the Pocket Poets Series in the fifties and has been printing books from the same address ever since. The poetry room on the upper floor is the reason most people make the climb; the ground floor runs the full range from biography to Beat literature to local zines. Open late, every day.
