Hunt Sales, drummer for Iggy Pop and David Bowie's Tin Machine, headlines a benefit show with the Jay Moeller Extravaganza and Chris Duarte at C-Boy's Heart & Soul. Proceeds support HOME, the organization currently covering Sales' rent after a fire damaged his South Austin house.
Live soul, R&B, and blues run downstairs seven nights a week, spilling out toward a patio with vintage shuffleboard and a halal food trailer parked out front. Upstairs, the Jade Room shifts the mood completely: wood-paneled, low-lit, and styled after a 1950s Japanese GI bar, serving sake, Japanese beers, and Singapore Slings to the people lucky enough to know it’s there.
