About Hand Roll Class with Chef Yuki

Camelia sous chef Yuki Hayashigawa leads a hands-on class teaching guests to season sushi rice, prep fish and vegetables, and roll their own hand rolls. Seating is limited and includes a sake or spirit-free drink plus everything you make.

At Camelia

Set in the old Church & State space in the Arts District, this Bistro from the Tsubaki / Ototo folks feels like a moonlit dinner in mid‑century Paris run through a Japanese filter. Wood‑panel walls, leather booths, scalloped lights and a sleek bar. Warm without being precious. The food riffs on French classics with Japanese finesse: think ham‑katsu Croque Madame, koji‑roasted chicken with seaweed cream, delicate raw bar bites. Wine and sake are treated like equals, so bring someone who likes experimenting. Dress up a bit, book ahead.
